I.L.A. Ladies Auxiliary Number Eleven

 

 

Accomplishments

Under the present administration, Mr. Clarence Pittman Jr., President; Willie J. Hunter, Vice President; Jakelin Chapman, Recording Secretary; and Nathaniel May Jr., Financial Secretary- Treasurer, and a trustee board of five members have serviced the members and their community as follows:

Ø      Job Opportunities for 2,000 Longshoreman employees or more a year.

Ø      COPE (Committee on Political Education) Fund/Involvement

Ø      Alcohol and Drugs Abuse Rehabilitation Plan

Ø      Funded Educational Program for Staff Seminars, Workshops and Classes at Miami-Dade Community College.

Ø      The union has their own Voter Registration Committee.

Ø      The Local provides Truck Driver and Heavy Equipment training as well as a Safety Training Program for all laborers manning longshoreman work.

Ø      Local 1416 gives Scholarships and has a Scholarship Reception yearly for their Union Member.
